Glass Cooktops Cleanup – Quick Tips to Keep Your Cooktop Clean
With glass cooktops being a flat surface, it is easy to wipe up any spill. But glass cooktops also scratch easily, and those scratches will never disappear. Avoid using any abrasive cleaners and steel wool when it comes to cleaning your glass cooktop. Always clean as you go; leaving food on the cooktop to sit and reheating those stains will cause the stains to get embedded, permanently damaging your glass top.
Spraying or applying any cleaning product while the range is hot can cause the cleaning product to burn right into the glass. Once the heat indicator light has shut off you may begin cleaning your cooktop.
A natural cleaner like white distilled vinegar, lemon juice, and baking soda can be very effective.
When using baking soda; pour it directly onto the surface and let it sit for a few minutes. Scrub the surface with a wet sponge or a microfiber cloth; making sure to cover those food stains, wipe with a clean cloth or paper towel. You can use a glass cleaner for extra shine.
If you choose to use white distilled vinegar or lemon juice, you’ll need to make a solution. Fill a spray bottle with hot water, and add either lemon juice or vinegar. Spray the solution on the grimy stain, and wipe with a clean cloth. Repeat as necessary. With a dry cloth, wipe any wet spots.
